T-10 days until departure. As far as preparations, I´m right where I thought I´d be: BEHIND. For those of you who don´t know me well, I´ll put you up to speed. I´m a chronic procrastinator, always optimistically forecasting that it will be "different"..."next time". Maybe it is time I embrace that part of my ME-ness makes me such a stellar procrastinator...
1. I´m easily distracted-- One minute I´m packing, then oohhh I am thirsty, go get water, and return 2 hours later.
2. I adhere to spontaneous schedule.
3. In terms of priorities, spending time with people comes before tasks.
4. I´m inefficient!--Even when I am in THE ZONE, I can´t get things done unless mom is breathing down my neck!
Nevertheless, I´m convinced it will all get done, just as it always does. I have made SOME accomplishments... From here, it is just little things that need to collected.
To name a few:
1. CREST TOOTHPASTE. This is impossible to find in Spain, and while I´m open to trying new brands on most items, I´m most certainly NOT here. I brush with Crest. Crest Bubblegum. Crest Regular. Crest Vanilla Mint. Crest... you pick! JUST MAKE IT CREST.
2. Floss. Not that I do it as often as I should, but I´ve recently heard this is among the items impossible to find.
3. Clif bars. Deeply saddened these can´t be purchased in Spain.
4. Rx´s. Still convinced we carry souped up med´s here.
In addition to preparing, I´m trying to organize my stuff. While I may not maintain a spotless room year round there is nothing I dislike more than leaving things in a blunder! I like to leave feeling organized. clean. ready.
Lastly, but MOST definitely not of least importance, I´m on Plan BEAT BRONCHITIS.
For the past four weeks I´ve had rattling in my chest, a clogged up nose, nasty coughs accompanied by the yuck stuck in my lungs. After weeks of Mucinex, and antibiotics prescribed by the doctor, I had nearly given up. Just when I was becoming discouraged, I turned to Internet, only to find loads of natural remedies for getting rid of what seems to be the unshakable bronchitis. Currently I´m on diet modification. I avoid foods that produce more mucus: fried food, dairy, sweets, and bananas. I embrace spices and foods that promote the clearing of my lungs: veggies, fruits, spices: turmeric, thyme, cayenne, and cumin, h20, and mint herbal tea! Additionally, my room now smells like a forest of eucalyptus trees! I have a vaporizer with medicine that is working wonders! I´m quite pleased to report I´m now on day to of no chest rattling, have minimal coughing, and am breathing more normally! :) Speaking of treatment... it is 12:24 and I should be in BED! g´night!
Love this update! A glimpse into Megan's life/thought process, with great information to educate readers and humor as well, and NUMBERED LISTS :-)
ReplyDeleteI made the lists for my readers like YOU. Who don't think disorganized like I do! Also, tried to keep it a little shorter... :)
